Sextus Julius Frontinus was appointed head of water supply of the city of Rome in the year 97 AD. His standard work on Roman water management, entitled 'De aquaeductu urbis Romae - The water supply of the city of Rome', has been translated and discussed by the Frontinus Gesellschaft e.V., Germany. Together with an overview of the state of knowledge regarding management, technology and organization of the public water supply then, it has been published in 'Die Wasserversorgung im antiken Rom', featuring a cover photo by Kim Zwarts.
